Turning a negative situation into a positive is what we try to take away from summer 2013 when our little Chloe was diagnosed with a mast-cell tumor on her tail. Chloe had an abnormal cyst-like lump on her tail for years and we were always advised that it was nothing to worry about. Until that summer, when we noticed Chloe kept bitting the lump on her tail. Looking back seems like it was her way of say, “hello - somethings wrongâ€. We had her tested and once we got the results made no hesitation to have it removed, which meant losing most of her tail.
Thankfully the surgery was a success and Chloe has been cancer free for over two years. A surprise outcome was her new little nub for a tail. Seeing it wag for the first time, melted us. From such a scary time came this little nub that just makes her even more adorable. It’s also a reminder of just how precious our time is with our pets and just how strong they are.

I prefer ‘nubbies’ (as I like to call them) to tails! So cute. Looks like Chloe is a big girl though so make sure she gets her walks!

I know Chloe, she’s not a big girl at all. She’s perfect just the way she is.
